 N training will take place on November 14\, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:30 
 pm in the first floor conference rooms at the Juvenile Court. Lunch will b
 e provided. \n\nWhile grief is a normal reaction to death\, youth grieve d
 ifferently than older adults. The loss of a significant person impacts all
  facets of their lives\, including feelings\, reactions\, behaviors\, rela
 tionships\, school\, work\, etc. Adolescents and young adults are uniquely
  facing several milestones that can impact their developmental trajectory.
  This session will educate and help equip participants to understand theor
 etical frameworks of grief\; understand and assess grief’s impact on child
 ren and youth and provide hands-on intervention including grief education\
 , expressive modalities\, story sharing\, continuing bonds\, building copi
 ng skills and fostering community. \n \n\nSarah See MS\, LPC\, CTP\nSarah 
 See MS\, LPC\, CTP\, is with OhioHealth Community Grief Services and has h
 er undergraduate degree in family studies with a concentration in child li
 fe and her master’s degree in community mental health counseling. See’s pa
 ssion for bereavement work started while working as a certified child life
  specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital for 11 years\, providing sup
 port in the Pediatric Intensive Care and Burn/Trauma Units. Within this ro
 le\, she provided education about developmentally appropriate understandin
 g of death\, provided support surrounding sharing the difficult news of a 
 death to siblings and/or peers\, and engaged patients and their families i
 n memory-making activities. For the past five years\, See has been a child
  and adolescent bereavement counselor with the School Outreach Program at 
 OhioHealth. Within this role\, See provides individual and group counselin
 g to children\, teens and young adults\,\; grief education to parents and 
 professionals\,\; and grief support and crisis response following a death 
 within a school community\n\nLauri Yersavich\, MS\, LSW\, CTP\nLauri Yersa
 vich\, MS\, LSW\, CTP\, is a licensed social worker and certified trauma p
 rofessional. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s 
 degree in community mental health counseling. She has been the team lead a
 nd coordinator of the OhioHealth school-based grief support program and a 
 grief counselor with the organization since 2002. Yersavich is a member of
  the Franklin County Suicide Prevention Coalition. Yersavich provides indi
 vidual and group grief counseling to children\, teens\, and young adults i
 n school and office-based settings in Central Ohio. She provides education
  to school counselors\, social workers\, parents\, and community providers
  related to the impact of grief\, trauma\, and loss on young people. Yersa
 vich works with area school districts to develop and/or update their crisi
 s response plans. The OhioHealth school-based program also provides on-sit
 e grief support and crisis response following a death within a school comm
 unity\, including suicide postvention.\n\n\n
