Child Sexual Abuse: Recognizing, Responding and Reporting
In-person. Summit County Juvenile Court First Floor Conference Room

Beth Cardina, LSW
Beth began her career in child welfare in 1988. She is a Licensed Social Worker and since 2007 she has served as the Program Director for the CASA/GAL Program of Summit County, one of the largest and most successful programs in the state of Ohio. Beth has a BA in Individual & Family Studies with a concentration in Family Life Services. She has extensive experience working with foster and adoptive parents in both the public and private sectors. Beth served on the Ohio CASA Board of Directors from 2017 until December 2023. In 2019 she received the “NEORTC Trainer of the Year” award and in 2020 she earned a Diversity and Inclusion for HR Certificate from Cornell University.

This training is designed to help equip CASA Volunteers with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to create a positive and trusting relationship with children who have been sexually abused. CASA Volunteers will learn the difference between “typical” sexual development and “red flag” behaviors. We will also review the mandatory reporting law and how to make a referral.
