Lisa Drogosz is a counseling psychologist and the director of the residential treatment unit at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. She began her career in correctional behavioral health in 2004 and has served justice-involved men and women as a psychologist, director, educator, and presenter on trauma informed practices. She has worked in both the private and public prison sectors in the US and probation and youth justice services in the UK.

Session 1 will focus on the reentry needs of incarcerated persons along with who is incarcerated, why, and the criminal justice system in general. Stigma surrounding incarcerated parents will also be addressed.

Session 2 will focus on child development, highlighting the impact of trauma on development (ACEs, generational trauma, etc.).

Session 3 will focus on the impact of incarceration on children and parents and how to facilitate family reintegration when appropriate. We will identify ways children and parents can maintain contact and why this is important. The special needs of incarcerated moms will also be highlighted.
